Accept Online EBT SNAP Payments With Vroom Delivery

What is SNAP?
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is a federal program that provides nutrition benefits to low-income individuals and families that are used at stores to purchase food. The program is administered by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) through its nationwide network of FNS field offices. Local FNS field offices are responsible for the licensing and monitoring of retail food stores participating in SNAP.
How big is the SNAP program?
In 2019, the USDA spent $60.4 Billion nationwide on SNAP. In 2020, this amount was increased significantly to an annualized spend of $79.22 Billion. In 2021, this grew by approximately another 15%!
Who is eligible to accept online SNAP orders with Vroom?
Any retailer currently accepting EBT SNAP payments in-store may accept orders online with Vroom Delivery.
Can I use my current SNAP certification and FNS number?
No. The online program is processed independently from in-store and requires a new online-only FNS number. Vroom will assist in guiding you through the process with the FNS. Generally this takes about 2-3 months from the initial application to launch.
Can SNAP-ineligible items still be purchased in the same transaction?
Yes. Just like in-store, customers can use a combination of EBT SNAP, EBT Cash, as well as traditional payment methods such as debit and credit cards.
